The Pinkney Innovation Complex of Science & Technology at Montgomery College received a Bronze Excellence in Economic Development Award for its PIC MC Promotional Video, a project in the category of Video/Multimedia Promotion from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). The video was produced by Montgomery College Television.
The honor was presented at an awards ceremony on Tuesday, Sept. 19, during the IEDC Annual Conference, which was held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
“On behalf of the IEDC board of directors and Excellence in Economic Development Awards Advisory Committee, congratulations to the Pinkney Innovation Complex of Science and Technology at Montgomery College,” said Michael Langley, FM, CEO of GREATER MSP, Minneapolis–St. Paul, MN, and 2017 IEDC Board Chair. “Not only did they work to provide a necessary service to their community; but also, their participation in the awards program sheds light on their stellar projects which other communities can now use as a benchmark.”
Montgomery College is a community college serving nearly 60,000 highly diverse students with three campuses located in Montgomery County, within the National Capital Region. The Germantown Campus is home to the Pinkney Innovation Complex for Science and Technology at Montgomery College, or PIC MC, an integrated academic, business and research district.
The goal is to develop the Germantown Campus to become increasingly known as the center of a Germantown Innovation District—a hub of education, business, and entrepreneurship—an attractive place for makers and takers of jobs, where industry partners co-locate and actively interact with faculty and students to achieve both educational and economic success.
