Montgomery College Earns Alliance for Workplace Excellence Honors
Montgomery College will receive the Workplace Excellence Seal of Approval, the Health and Wellness Trailblazer Award and the EcoLeadership Award from the Alliance for Workplace Excellence, a nonprofit organization that recognizes ‘Excellent Places to Work.’ The College is one of only 18 winners of all three Alliance awards in 2012. The Alliance will recognize Montgomery College and other area employers at its annual awards ceremony on Monday, June 11 at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center. This year marks the eighth year in a row that Montgomery College will receive the Seal of Approval, the seventh straight year for the Trailblazer Award and the third time that the College has earned the EcoLeadership honors.
“Montgomery College is a great place to work because of our excellent faculty, staff, and administrators, all of whom work hard every day to empower our students to change their lives and enrich our community,” said Sarah Espinosa, vice president of human resources, development and engagement at Montgomery College. “As an employer, Montgomery College is committed to enhancing employee engagement at every level of our organization.”
The Alliance has recognized the Washington, D.C. area’s best places to work for the past 13 years. The 73 winning companies represent more than one million employees from organizations of all sizes and in all sectors—private, public, and nonprofit. All award applicants must undergo a rigorous assessment process led by an independent review panel of professors, professionals, and doctoral candidates in business, industrial and organizational psychology, and human resources.
