Montgomery College Launches New Mascot Design Competition Students, Alumni Encouraged to Participate By April 27
The Montgomery College Office of Communications is calling on all creative, imaginative and artistic Montgomery College students, staff, faculty and alumni to enter the design competition for the College’s new mascot—the Raptor!
In March, the Montgomery College community selected new collegewide colors of purple, black, silver and white to unify the institution’s three campuses and embody school spirit. A second vote resulted in the selection of the Raptor as Montgomery College’s new mascot. Known for outstanding vision, intelligence and the agility to respond rapidly to needs, raptors indeed have the same traits as Montgomery College.
But there remains one final piece to the colors and mascot puzzle: What will the Raptor look like? Is it a bird? Or is it a dinosaur? Or is it both? This is where creative minds can help. Montgomery College students, faculty, staff, and alumni are encouraged to submit the graphic representation that will best represent the Raptors.
The winning design will be proudly displayed throughout Montgomery College—from the website to clothing worn by students. The winner will receive spirit wear that incorporates the design and a monetary award.
Complete rules are available online at: www.montgomerycollege.edu/colorsmascot. The competition deadline is Friday, April 27, 2012.
We look forward to seeing the creativity and originality of the entries. Go Montgomery College Raptors!
