Professor of Iranian Politics to Speak at Montgomery College April 9
Montgomery College will host a talk by Dr. Hossein Saifzadeh, professsor of politics in the Department of Law and Politics at the University of Tehran, on Thursday, April 9 at 2 p.m. Dr. Saifzadeh will speak on United States – Iranian relations and take questions from the audience. Free and open to the public, this talk will be held at Montgomery College’s Rockville Campus in Room 224 of the Gudelsky Institute for Technical Education.
Dr. Saifzadeh is currently an adjunct scholar at the Middle East Institute (MEI) in Washington. Dr. Saifzadeh has written books, articles and papers about Iranian politics and foreign policy and international relations. He also has translated several books from English to Farsi.
Dr. Saifzadeh earned his master’s degree from California State University at Chico. He also pursued graduate studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara, before returning to Iran to complete his Ph.D. In 1991-92 he was a visiting professor at Harvard University. He returned in the same capacity in 2002, and spent part of the year as a scholar-in-residence at MEI.
