Montgomery College to Host Free Vehicle and Child Safety Seat Inspections on Saturday, April 23
Montgomery College’s Automotive Technology Department and automotive industry partners have teamed up to offer free vehicle inspections to the public on Saturday, April 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The free inspections will take place in Parking Lot 1 across from the Gudelsky Institute for Technical Education. Drivers should enter at the corner of Route 355 and North Campus Drive, Rockville, Md. The inspections will be provided by local repair shops and their ASE-certified repair technicians, who volunteer their time to conduct the inspections. When the inspection is complete, a technician will discuss the items inspected with the vehicle owner, answer questions and make recommendations. The inspection takes about 15-20 minutes. Items inspected include tires, fluids, batteries, wipers, belts, pulleys, hoses, air filters, lights (both dashboard and exterior lights). There will also be free child safety seat inspections and installations. These inspections are conducted by certified Maryland child seat inspectors. The child-seat inspections require an advance appointment and take approximately 30 minutes per child seat. To schedule a child-seat inspection appointment or for more information, please contact Professor Debra Anderson, program director of the Automotive Technology Department, at 240-567-7620 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
