Sovaida Ma’ani Ewing, author of the recently published book “Collective Security Within Reach,” will speak at Montgomery College’s Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus on Thursday, November 13 from 1-2:15 p.m. in Room 301 of the Charlene R. Nunley Student Services Center, located at 600 Takoma Avenue, Takoma Park, Md. The event is free of charge and open to all.
“Collective Security Within Reach” argues that the world community needs to replace its reactive and expedient approach to solving global problems with a proactive and principled one. The book offers recommendations for action that national and international leaders can take to solve several pressing global problems of our time. The recommendations include preventing further proliferation of nuclear arms, creating a viable international force to intervene in conflicts, reforming the United Nations, equitable management and distribution of sources of energy, and much more.
